Hair Loss is a very stressful situation. And sometimes stress can result in more hair loss (as in the case of Telogen effluvium).

Inherited causes of hair loss implies non reversible and non curable conditions. It is a term that I seldom use unless if the cause is very obvious.
For the above patients, it is good to rule out some reversible causes of hair loss, eg stress (most common), anaemia, thyroid function etc.
Treatments can be given according to diagnoses.
